Yamazaki Distillers Reserve Single Malt Whisky was released in spring 2014 and is part of Suntory’s flagship single malt Japanese whisky line. This no age statement whisky blends a range of malts varying in age and cask type, to create a unique multi-layered taste.
Yamazaki Distillers Reserve Single Malt Whisky has fresh fruit and berry notes, gained from the maturation of young malts in Bordeaux wine casks for three years. This expression also features a blend of older malts matured in Sherry casks (aged approximately 20 years) and Japanese Oak (Mizunara) casks, which are over 12 years old and contribute a complex spicy finish.
Yamazaki Distillers Reserve Single Malt Whisky is highly regarded and an excellent introduction to the world of Japanese whisky.
Colour: Red and bright amber
Nose: Strawberry, cherry, Mizunara (Japannese oak)
Palate: Honey, raspberry, soft touch
Finish: Sweet vanilla, clean finish, hint of cinnamon
